Pacific Fury was formed by Pete Petersen in 2012. The original team only had girls that played for Pacific Little League, most of the girls played for Pacific’s 10 year old All-Star team. The original team did winter work outs which were coached by Emily, Garth and Jamie, for 4 months before beginning tournament season which is in spring. Having the Pacific Fury Fastpitch select team helped the girls softball program at Pacific Little League grow and improve the level of play.
The original team was Madi Sheldon, Kyra, Carrie, Carson, Savanna, Gracie, Kari, Kaitlynn, Elise, Kelsey, and Lindsey. The coaches for that team were Pete Petersen who was the head coach and manager and was assisted by Danny Boyd and James Rust. The “official” book keeper was Keith Collingridge. The girls that have stayed with Fury for the 3 years are Madi, Kyra, Carrie, Gracie, Kaitlynn, Kari and Lindsey. Those 7 girls are who we call the “Originals” because they are the only ones that have played for Fury all 3 years.
Fury has many coaches but the main coaches are Pete Petersen, Jamie , Charles , Sean and Sara Leaf, James Rust, Lance Swehla , Athea Surface and Danny Boyd. Fury started off with one 12U team in 2012 and then one 10U team, one 12U team, and one 14U team in 2013 and now in 2014, Fury has one 10U team, two 12U teams, two 14U teams and two 16U teams. Fury had 1 team then 3 teams and now has 7 teams. Fury was successful in 2013 and had the 10U and the 12U teams go to Las Vegas for the Softball World Series, 10U placed 1st and the 12U team placed 2nd. In the beginning of 2012, Fury was not known and now Fury is well known in the state of Washington and is continually growing and becoming more popular every year.
